Join fellow sailors for a week cruising the beautiful San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands to Victoria, BC. The San Juans are located just off the northwest corner of Washington State, The San Juan and adjacent Gulf islands are a cruising paradise boasting sheltered waters, magnificent marine parks, quiet villages, and welcoming marinas. Wildlife abounds on the land and in the sea, with deer, bald eagles, sea otters, seals, sea lions, and orca whales commonplace.
On this flotilla, you’ll depart Bellingham, WA and sail through the San Juans to Friday Harbor. Keep your eyes open for whales as you sail across Haro Strait to Victoria, BC. Enjoy a lay day exploring Victoria and the famous Butchart Gardens before gathering for a group dinner at a local restaurant. Then you’re off to Bedwell Harbour on South Pender Island for a cocktail reception at Poet’s Cove Resort. On Wednesday the flotilla heads to Winter Cove on Saturn Is. We gather on the last evening for a beach barbecue on Cypress Is. Then it’s just a short sail back across Bellingham Bay on Friday morning!
This flotilla is hosted by San Juan Sailing in Bellingham and led by Capt. Roger Philips, licensed USCG captain and ASA Outstanding Instructor in 2008 and 2009. He has led 13 previous flotillas in these islands. The fleet is limited to 10 boats and will fill up quickly. This year’s flotilla to the San Juan Islands was fully booked by December, 2022. After clearing customer enroute via phone, you’ll tour the city on Vancouver Island.
Vancouver Island – Bus to Butchart Gardens, dock crawl, then group restaurant dinner
Bedwell Harbor at S. Pender Island – Swim and spa, then cocktail reception and dinner at Poets Cove
Saturna Island – At anchor, hiking, shoot the rapids at Boat Passage, picnic dinner ashore.
Cypress Island – Clear Customs enroute via CBP Roam, beach potluck BBQ
Arrive back in Bellingham, WA at noon
