WEATHER

December in the Saronic Gulf in Greece experiences mild and relatively pleasant weather, making it a decent time for sailing, although it’s not as warm as the summer months.

Daytime temperatures typically range from 15°C to 18°C (59°F to 64°F), while nighttime lows can drop to around 10°C to 13°C (50°F to 55°F). It’s cool, but still comfortable for outdoor activities, especially during the day.

December is part of the wetter season in Greece, so you should expect some rain. Rainfall can vary, with occasional showers or overcast days, but it’s usually not continuous, and there can still be plenty of clear, sunny periods. The humidity is moderate to high, around 70-80%, but the cool temperatures help keep it from feeling uncomfortable.

Winds in the Saronic Gulf during December are generally lighter, averaging around 10 to 15 knots, and can vary in direction. While not as strong as in the summer, these winds are still sufficient for sailing, though conditions can be more variable.

The sea temperature is cooler, around 17°C to 19°C (63°F to 66°F). Swimming may be brisk but not out of the question for those accustomed to cooler waters.
