Cruises are designed to fast-track your progress — helping you gain valuable miles, hands-on experience, and confidence in handling larger yachts. Sail under the sun, explore the Greek Islands, and log miles toward your next certification — all in one unforgettable experience.
During a typical leisure charter, you might cover short distances and spend most of your time relaxing at anchor.
Our mile-building programs take a different approach — combining adventure and instruction to help you qualify for ASA or RYA certifications through real sailing challenges.
Our Spring Mile Builder is May 2-9 • Aegean Expedition to Chios. Our planned route will take us from Poros Island toward Chios Island, near the Turkish coast. Along the way, we may visit enchanting islands such as Kea, Psara, Chios, and Tinos. As with all mile-builders, the final itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions and training objectives. See the article on our Fall milebuilder here
There’s no fixed syllabus — you’ll be a working part of the crew, participating in every aspect of the voyage.
If you already hold an ASA or RYA Skipper’s Certificate, you’ll have the opportunity to take command of the yacht under instructor supervision, refining your leadership and decision-making skills at sea. This is real-world sailing — dynamic, immersive, and rewarding.
This learn-to-sail vacation is ideal for ASA students logging qualifying miles, sailors preparing for ASA 104, 105/106 or RYA Coastal/Offshore Skipper, and anyone ready to gain experience beyond coastal day sails. No matter your level, you’ll return with more confidence, more miles, and more stories to tell. This vacation with Athens Sailing Academy offers:
¤ ASA 104 | BAREBOAT CRUISING
¤ ASA 105 | COASTAL NAVIGATION
¤ ASA 106 | ADVANCED COASTAL CRUISING
¤ ASA 114 | CRUISING CATAMARAN
¤ IPC | INTERNATIONAL PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE

I can’t thank you enough for the ADVENTURE we undertook last week. It’s hard to even put into perspective for me as this was well outside the range of any experience in my life. I learned so much, not just about sailing but about Greece, about myself, and about what is possible in this amazing world. I was able to see some things that I had waited nearly my entire life to see, but was so surprised with the many things you showed me that I never knew existed. And I understand now that I only saw a very tiny fraction of what is out there. This was not a sailing class. It was a rebirth.
