A Guided Flotilla

hosted by Whitecaps Sailing
  • May 30th - June 6th, 2026
  • 8 Days | 7 Nights
Saronic Gulf greece

Overview

Set sail from Athens into the sparkling waters of the Saronic Gulf for a week of adventure, connection, and authentic Greek island life. Our flotilla offers the ideal blend of freedom and support: experienced sailors can skipper their own yacht, while others can join by the cabin and relax as part of a shared crew. With a professional lead team providing daily briefings and on-water assistance, guests enjoy both confidence and independence. From secluded swim coves to lively evenings in charming harbours, this experience combines hands-on sailing, community, and unforgettable Mediterranean moments.

This week-long flotilla departs from Alimos Marina in Athens and invites sailors to explore the timeless beauty of the Saronic Gulf aboard comfortable monohulls or spacious catamarans, with options to join by cabin or charter an entire yacht. You’ll cruise in good company through clear turquoise waters, stopping each day at picturesque islands and charming coastal villages — from the ancient Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion to the vibrant harbors of Aegina and Poros, the volcanic peninsula of Methana, and peaceful Vathy. Each night brings new culture, sunsets, and delicious Greek cuisine ashore, giving you a perfect mix of sailing, swimming, and authentic local experiences.

During the flotilla, participants sail aboard modern, fully equipped sailing yachts, including comfortable 45–51 ft monohulls and spacious 40–45 ft catamarans. Guests may charter and skipper their own yacht if qualified, or join by the cabin on a shared yacht with a designated skipper. All vessels are outfitted with standard cruising amenities such as navigation electronics, safety equipment, galley facilities, and private cabins designed for week-long coastal cruising. A professional lead boat provides daily weather briefings, route planning guidance, and on-water support while allowing each yacht the freedom to sail independently within the agreed itinerary.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1
ALIMOS / CAPE SOUNION
saturday may 30, 2026

Our adventure begins at Alimos Marina, Athens. After a relaxed morning, we’ll kick off the day with a provisioning raid—picking up all the essentials for the week ahead—while the skippers complete their yacht check-ins. Once everything is in place, we’ll set sail for Cape Sounion to visit the iconic Temple of Poseidon.

As sailors, we can’t pass up the chance to pay our respects to the god of the sea, ensuring that Poseidon blesses us with calm seas for the journey. The sunset from the temple is nothing short of spectacular, casting a golden glow over the Aegean. We’ll anchor nearby for the night, with the temple illuminated in the distance, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Later, we’ll take the dinghy to shore and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the local tavernas, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and the view of the temple standing tall on the hill. It’s the perfect way to kick off an unforgettable week of sailing.

Day 2
AEGINA
sunday may 31, 2026

After leaving Cape Sounion, we’ll set sail for the charming island of Aegina, where we’ll dock for the night at Aegina Marina. After settling in, we’ll head to a local taverna for a delicious dinner, enjoying the lively island atmosphere. The following morning, before we set off for our next destination, you’ll have the option to visit the Temple of Aphaia. Capt. Belen will share her expert knowledge and fascinating history of this ancient site, adding depth to your experience of one of Greece’s most iconic temples.

Day 3
POROS
monday jun 1, 2026

The sail from Aegina to Poros covers about 17NM, and upon arrival, we’ll dock in this picturesque town, known for its lively atmosphere. After settling in, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal at one of the charming tavernas along the harbor, savoring the local specialties. Poros is a vibrant and popular vacation spot, offering plenty of entertainment, from leisurely strolls along the waterfront to exploring the town’s shops and cafes. It’s the perfect place to unwind, soak in the lively vibe, and enjoy a memorable evening by the sea.

Day 4
METHANA
tuesday jun 2, 2026

Our next destination is a short sail to the Methana Peninsula, a fascinating volcanic region known for its thermal spas. After a hike up to the volcanic crater, you’ll have the chance to relax and rejuvenate in the healing mineral waters—perfect for unwinding after a day of sailing. And yes, even if you’re not a geologist, you’ll quickly understand the connection to the region’s name, as the sulfurous waters are a giveaway to the volcanic activity beneath.

After a day of exploration and relaxation, we’ll head to the charming fishing village of Vathy for the night. Belen describes it as absolutely gorgeous and a must-see spot. It’s a small, intimate village with limited docking space, so if we can’t find enough room to dock, we’ll spend the night at the Methana dock instead. Either way, you’re in for a peaceful, picturesque evening in one of the region’s most delightful spots.

wednesday jun 3, 2026

Testimonials
I’ve sailed with Captain Jean and Mila on three flotillas in Greece, Croatia, and Mallorca. Beautiful locations, well thought out itineraries, and an incredible group of sailors. Recommended!
Kelly H., Tennessee

Just wanted to say “Thank you” for the incredible sailing trip. You both not only were incredible hosts in introducing us to the area and all the beautiful towns but you also made the sailing both interactive and enjoyable.

Craig & Annie, Ohio
We chose to book a Delta 36 on the 2024 Paraty Flotilla with Capt. Jean and Mila. Our boat was very clean and new, and a perfect choice for 2 people or a small group. The flotilla had great comradery between the boats, and we even learned how to raft with another boat for the first time! We highly recommend this flotilla as a very unique sailing experience in an area that is still relatively undiscovered by other American and European charter companies.
