hosted by Whitecaps Sailing
  • August 08 - 15, 2026
  • 8 Days | 7 Nights

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure sailing the stunning Balearic waters around Mallorca, where the Mediterranean meets breathtaking beauty and history. Discover the lively capital of Palma, stroll through charming coastal villages, swim in crystal-clear calas, and explore the dramatic caves of Drach. Visit the enchanting Cabrera National Park—a serene marine haven perfect for snorkeling or hiking—and uncover hidden treasures from panoramic mountain views to majestic caves. Each evening, your flotilla skipper and crew will guide you to the best restaurants and cultural hotspots, offering insider insight into Mallorca’s rich history and culinary delights.

But the true highlight of this experience comes when the moon casts its shadow over the sun, transforming the sky into an awe-inspiring spectacle of darkness and light. This rare celestial event will be the perfect backdrop to your adventure, as you sail in the heart of the Mediterranean, surrounded by friends and the beauty of nature.

You’ll be sailing aboard comfortable 45-foot catamarans, ideal for both relaxing and socializing, with spacious decks and stable cruising. These well-equipped vessels provide the perfect platform for enjoying life at sea, whether you’re lounging in the sun or gathering with fellow sailors under the stars. If there’s enough interest, 48-foot (or larger) monohulls will also be available—perfect for those who prefer a more traditional sailing experience.

FLOTILLA LEADERS

Capt. Jean and ‘Admiral’ Mila

Capt. Jean and ‘Admiral’ Mila have been organizing sailing flotillas with the American Sailing Association since 2009, introducing both sailors and non-sailors to captivating destinations in the Mediterranean and other destinations such as Seychelles, Brazil, Thailand, BVI and the Bahamas. With their deep knowledge of the sailing waters, they take participants to hidden gems not typically known to tourists. Safety is their top priority, ensuring that every participant returns home with unforgettable memories and a sense of adventure.

Jean, a native of Belgium, holds a USCG 100T Master License and teaches ASA 101, 103, 104, 114, 105, and 118 in both Florida and the Mediterranean. Jean is a fun, experienced sailor who makes every trip safe and enjoyable. With a passion for history and fluency in several languages, he brings depth and connection to every adventure.

Mila, originally from Peru, is the Admiral of the flotilla and the mastermind behind the organization. As a US Coast Guard captain with a six-pack license, she commands the respect of her crew while maintaining a dynamic leadership style that keeps everything running smoothly.

Together, they operate Whitecaps Sailing, an American Sailing certified school based in Southwest Florida.

Belen Castro

Belen is a an ASA-certified instructor, an RYA Yachtmaster, and a professional astronomer — the perfect guide for this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. A native of Spain, she speaks Spanish, English, Greek, and several other languages, and knows the Mallorca cruising grounds intimately.

Her mix of deep sailing expertise, scientific insight, and calm leadership make her an incredible asset to the flotilla — and an unforgettable part of the journey.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1
EMBARKATION IN PALMA DE MALLORCA

Our adventure starts at midday in Palma de Mallorca, where you’ll meet your yacht and crewmates. After checking in, “Admiral” Mila will lead the provisioning mission for onboard breakfasts and lunches (dinners will be ashore at local restaurants).

In the late afternoon, we’ll set sail south to Sa Ràpita, a charming seaside town. We’ll either dock or anchor for the night, then enjoy a group dinner ashore, celebrating the start of an unforgettable week.

Day 2
Portopetro

After breakfast on board, we set sail along Mallorca’s southern coast toward Portopetro, a charming fishing village with a laid-back vibe. We’ll stop along the way for a swim in one of the island’s beautiful coves.

We plan to arrive by late afternoon, with the option to dock or anchor near the harbor. The evening will be spent ashore, enjoying dinner at a local restaurant by the water.

Day 3
Portocolom

We depart Portopetro and sail northwest along the coast toward Portocolom, one of the most charming natural harbors on the island.

Along the way, we’ll stop in a scenic cala for swimming, snorkeling, and lunch on board. We’ll dock in Portocolom by late afternoon and enjoy a relaxed dinner ashore in this peaceful coastal town.

Day 4
Caves of the Dragon

Today we take a break from sailing to explore Mallorca’s cultural and natural treasures inland.

We’ll travel by local taxis to visit the spectacular Caves of the Dragon (Cuevas del Drach), where a classical music performance awaits on an underground lake — a magical, Phantom of the Opera–style experience.

Next, we head to a local vineyard for a typical Mallorcan lunch paired with a wine tasting. On the way back, we’ll stop at the Mallorca pearl factory outlet, perfect for picking up a special gift.

We end the tour with a visit to the mountaintop Monastery of San Salvador, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the island and coast.

Return to the yachts in the evening. Dinner either on board or ashore — your choice.

Day 5
Colonia Sant Jordi

We set sail toward Colonia Sant Jordi, where we’ll anchor near the white sand beaches of Es Trenc, one of the best spots on the island for watching the total solar eclipse.

We’ll spend the day swimming, relaxing, and preparing for the eclipse, which begins around 19:38, with totality at 20:31. With the horizon wide open to the west, this will be an ideal location to witness this unforgettable celestial event

Day 6
Cabrera

After breakfast, we sail south to the protected island of Cabrera, a national park rich with history and natural beauty.  We will anchor in the island’s stunning bay.

The afternoon is yours to explore, snorkel, hike, or simply relax. Don’t miss the short climb to the old fortress for breathtaking views.

Dinner on board. In the morning, we’ll dinghy ashore to grab fresh, warm bread — a local favorite.

Day 7
Return To Palma de Mallorca

Our last day of sailing begins with a leisurely morning of sailing and  swimming at one last beautiful spot before we make our way back to Palma de Mallorca.

We’ll arrive back at the marina around 17:00. After disembarking, you have the option to check into a local hotel for the night or spend the evening on the yacht.

Testimonials

Just wanted to say “Thank you” for the incredible sailing trip. You both not only were incredible hosts in introducing us to the area and all the beautiful towns but you also made the sailing both interactive and enjoyable.

Anna and Craig - Ohio

My husband and I have joined 3 flotillas and have found that Captain Jean’s experience as a sailor and his knowledge of the cruising waters along with “Admiral” Mila’s knack for finding the finest restaurants and interesting places to visit on shore makes Med Sailing Adventures a fantastic, one-of-a-kind vacation! We look forward to many more trips with them.

Dody and Dave - Oregon
