For more than 15 years, Med Sailing Adventures has been sailing the islands of Croatia, earning a reputation as the “gurus of Croatia sailing.” This Central Dalmatian flotilla is our most popular, combining beautiful sailing with history, adventure, incredible food and wine, and the camaraderie that makes a flotilla special. We explore islands including Vis, Hvar and Brač, along with charming fishing villages, secluded anchorages and historic towns.
Participants can choose from modern monohulls or spacious catamarans, joining by the cabin or chartering an entire boat for their own group. Each day offers a mix of sailing, swimming, exploring ashore and enjoying the local culture, with an itinerary that balances great sailing with plenty of time to experience Croatia.
The flotilla fee includes flotilla leadership and support, daily skippers meetings and route planning, and organized group activities and experiences specifically listed in the itinerary. Not included are airfare, transportation to and from Croatia, meals ashore, personal expenses, optional activities, and travel insurance. Provisions, fuel and docking fees and mooring fees, refueling at the end of the trip are shared equally among the crew of each boat.
Vere Stuij, originally from the Netherlands, Vere completed her professional sailing training in South Africa and holds an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster certification, as well as ASA Instructor certifications 201 and 203. She has extensive experience as a professional skipper and flotilla leader, sailing throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean being Croatia her expertise. Participants consistently comment on and are impressed by her strong seamanship, professionalism, and calm approach. Highly organized, dependable, and approachable, Vere keeps the flotilla running smoothly while making sure guests and crew have a fun, relaxed, and memorable sailing experience.
This itinerary, first introduced in 2009, has consistently been the top choice for first-time sailors exploring Croatia—and it’s easy to see why! With ever-changing routes, new anchorages, and charming small ports, this flotilla is the perfect way to discover the breathtaking islands of Dalmatia. You’ll enjoy not only incredible sailing but also a vibrant mix of cultures, rich ancient history, and the fun camaraderie that comes with a flotilla adventure. For food and wine enthusiasts, this journey is a dream come true, offering delectable local flavors at every stop. We recommend arriving on Thursday to settle in, and on Friday, take the time to explore the magnificent Diocletian’s Palace in Split, a UNESCO World Heritage site that forms the heart of the old town.
Begin your day with a visit to the enchanting town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning medieval architecture and rich history. After soaking in the sights, we’ll take time for provisioning to prepare for our adventure. In the afternoon, we check in at Marina Baotić, where our yachts await. Around 17:00, we set sail for the beautiful island of Šolta, aiming to anchor or moor in the picturesque bay of Uvala Šešula on the island’s north side. In the evening, enjoy dinner either aboard your yacht or at one of the charming seaside restaurants on shore.
Set sail to the captivating island of Vis, famously featured as the Greek island in Mamma Mia II. On arrival, we’ll anchor at the secluded Rogačić Bay for a refreshing swim and an intriguing exploration of the abandoned Cold War military installations. Afterward, we’ll head to Vis Harbor, where the evening promises a traditional Dalmatian dinner at Konoba Magica, a charming vineyard nestled in the mountains, offering an authentic taste of island life surrounded by stunning views.
Set sail to the charming village of Komiža, located on the western side of Vis Island. This picturesque Dalmatian fishing village is a beloved stop for sailors, with its quaint streets and scenic beauty. Along the way, we’ll pause for refreshing swims in the crystal-clear waters. Upon arriving, we’ll secure a mooring ball and head ashore for a relaxed evening. Tonight, we indulge in a fun tradition—pizza, beer, and gelato— enjoyed at one of Komiža’s cozy local spots, the perfect way to unwind after a day on the water.
We will sail along the south coast of Vis Island en route to the island of Hvar, taking time to stop for a swim in one of the island’s hidden gems like Uvala Stiniva or Uvala Travna, known for their serene beauty and crystal-clear waters. Our destination is Marina Palmižana on St. Klement Island, located just across from Hvar. Once moored, we’ll take a water taxi to explore the vibrant city of Hvar, where you can wander through its historic streets and enjoy dinner at one of the many delightful restaurants ashore.
On the northern side of Hvar Island lies the picturesque port of Vrboska, a charming little haven often described as the “Little Venice” of Croatia. This quaint town offers a peaceful atmosphere, excellent restaurants, and some of the best gelato you’ll find along the Dalmatian coast. We’ll make several stops along the way for swimming, and a relaxing lunch amidst the beautiful surroundings. Once we arrive, we’ll dock at either the ACI Marina or the municipal marina, depending on availability. The evening promises a delightful dinner ashore, where you can immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of this village, which feels as though it’s been frozen in time.
We cross the Hvarski Kanal to the island of Brac and will sail by the beach of Zlatni Rat, the most photographed beach of Croatia. After a lunch on board and some swimming near Zlatni Rat, we sail to the small fishing port of Milna where we will spend the night.
We return to the base, with some more swimming and good sailing along the way and arrive around 16:00 at the Baotić Marina where we will refuel before returning to our slips. You can stay on board on Friday night but, if you do, you will have to disembark by 8:30 on Saturday morning. Marina Baotić is a modern marina with excellent facilities, a pool and bar and restaurants.

Just back from an amazing Flotilla week. So much fun! The five boats were filled with interesting and fun people, we had great trip leaders. I had a great time being skipper for my boat (my first time in charge), and I always felt supported and had all my questions answered.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time on the Adriatic Sea exploring the Dalmatian coastline with your 2026 Flotilla. We were very impressed with your flotilla leader, Vere was organized, focused and still very personable. Regarding sailing and boat handling, I saw her explaining sailing concepts / vocabulary patently to people interested. She held a knot tying class for all interested. Vera did a great job and you should be very proud to have her as an important part of your Med Sailing Team.
Great option for sailors and sailor wannabes who do not own a boat, to join Jean and Mila for an amazing family style vacation exploring well organized tours of sea side towns, beaches, caves, historic sites and great food and friends! My only wish is that they would adopt me as a son, and take me along every time!
