Set sail on our signature GASTRO-SAIL! A week-long culinary flotilla along Croatia’s most spectacular coastline. Departing from ACI Marina Dubrovnik, you’ll explore the islands of Korčula and Mljet, stroll the medieval walls of Ston, and experience the magic of Dubrovnik. Along the way, visit family-run wineries, tour mussel and oyster farms, and dine at waterfront restaurants accessible only by boat—some featured on programs by Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. Swim in crystal-clear Adriatic waters and enjoy relaxed coastal sailing with fellow food and wine lovers.
The GASTRO-SAIL Food & Wine Flotilla is one of Capt. Jean & “Admiral” Mila’s favorite itineraries. The journey explores the historic charm of Dubrovnik, the medieval walls and oyster beds of Ston, the vineyards of Korčula, and the lush national park landscapes of Mljet. Each day blends relaxed island-hopping passages with immersive food and wine experiences that highlight the authentic flavors of Dalmatia.
Guests sail aboard spacious, modern catamarans, providing stability, comfort, and generous common areas for socializing. Every couple or single enjoys a private cabin with their own en-suite head, offering both comfort and privacy throughout the week. The catamarans serve as floating accommodations, allowing the flotilla to access secluded anchorages and waterfront restaurants reachable only by boat.
The itinerary includes visits to family-run wineries, oyster and mussel farms, and memorable seaside restaurants—some recognized on international culinary television programs. Flotilla leadership, itinerary coordination, and organized reservations for group experiences are also included, ensuring a seamless and social adventure.
Basic yacht provisions for daily breakfast and light lunches onboard, docking fees, mooring fees, and end-of-charter refueling costs are shared equally among participants on each individual boat. Not included are flights to/from Croatia, airport transfers, travel insurance, dinners ashore, excursions, and personal expenses.
GASTRO-SAIL is designed for sailors and non-sailors alike who appreciate exceptional food, fine wine, and the camaraderie of shared adventure—combining the pleasures of catamaran sailing with the unforgettable tastes of coastal Croatia.

Capt. Jean de Keyser and “Admiral” Mila have been organizing ASA flotillas since 2009, leading unforgettable sailing adventures throughout the Mediterranean and Seychelles. Jean, originally from Belgium, holds a USCG 100T Master License and teaches ASA 101, 103, 104, 105, 114, and 118 in both Florida and Europe. Mila, originally from Peru, also holds a USCG Captain’s License and serves as “Admiral,” overseeing operations, logistics, and guest experience to ensure every flotilla runs seamlessly. Together they operate Whitecaps Sailing, an ASA-certified sailing school based in Southwest Florida and Greece, combining deep local knowledge with a strong focus on safety and hospitality.

Vere Stuij, from the Netherlands, brings extensive experience as both a flotilla leader and skipper, having sailed the Dalmatian Coast numerous times. Known for her leadership, warmth, and infectious enthusiasm, she creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for every crew. 2026 marks her third season with Jean & Mila (sailing with us since 2024), and she continues to be a valued part of our team, blending regional expertise with a passion for creating exceptional sailing experiences.
We will meet at the ACI Dubrovnik Marina in Komolac around lunchtime. The marina has excellent shower facilities, restaurants, and a nice pool. After lunch, under the guidance of “Admiral” Mila, we will do our provisioning. If everything runs smoothly, we anticipate a departure around 17:00.
Leave Dubrovnik ACI Marina and head for nearby Zaton. Our first gastro experience will be in Restaurant Kasar, home of the best black risotto we have ever tasted. Kasar was featured on Andrew Zimmern’s popular TV shows.
We arrive next in Ston, once the salt capital of the Ragusa Republic, guarded by what’s now one of Europe’s longest preserved walls. You’ll have the option to hike from Ston to Mali Ston, where we’ll watch oyster and mussel farming in action and sample them paired with fine wine.
That evening, we sail to Kobaš and dock at the Gastro Mare restaurant, where Chef Tony will delight us with a prix fixe seafood menu—and desserts by Maja. The next morning, we’ll rise early, share breakfast, and prepare to cast off again.
We’ll sail into Trstenik, on the western shore of Pelješac—renowned for its Plavac Mali and Dingač wines. Plavac Mali (a parent of Zinfandel and Primitivo) thrives on these slopes. Close to the harbor sits Grgić Winery, founded by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich—famous in Napa and at home in Croatia. You’ll taste his Plavac Mali and Pošip while overlooking the sea. In the evening, dine at Vitaceae, with views over the port. After a digestif, you’ll return for a restful night aboard.
If you’ve ever wondered where Marco Polo might have settled when he wasn’t traveling Asia, you’ll find the answer in medieval Korčula. On Tuesday afternoon we dock at ACI Marina and step into its maze of cobbled lanes and towering walls.
We’ll visit two outstanding family wineries: Tasovac and Black Island. For dinner, choose from Korčula’s top restaurants or join us at Banja, just outside town—where we discovered the best sous‑vide grilled octopus to date.
We will dock in the bay of Polace, where we will enjoy one of the main specialties in Dalmatia, the so-called Peka
Check out the ruins of a Roman palace where, according to historical records, the Apostle Paul stayed for a while after having been shipwrecked.
The bay is part of a natural park. Work up an appetite with a thirty-minute hike to the lake with a medieval Benedictine Abbey on a small island. The scenery is worth the small effort but, if hiking is not your thing, you can also take a taxi to the lake or rent an electric bike.
We leave the bay of Polace and sail southeast along the coast of Mljet to the small port of Okuklje. Dinner aboard or at any local restaurant.
We will refuel our boats in nearby Sobra and then head back to the base in Dubrovnik. On the way, some more swimming and paddleboarding.
Disembark by 9:00 am and go home with great memories and new friendships.

I’ve had the pleasure of sailing twice—once in Croatia and once in Greece—and both experiences were truly incredible. Mila and Jean have a unique gift for bringing together people of all ages and experience levels, creating an unforgettable adventure no matter where in the world you are. They encouraged me to learn to sail and even become certified, turning this into a lifelong passion. There’s nothing quite like being on the water, and I always feel safe, supported, and completely at ease knowing I’m in such capable hands.
