FLOTILLA LEADERS

Mila  & John

Capt. Jean and “Admiral” Mila have been organizing sailing flotillas with the American Sailing Association since 2009, guiding both sailors and non-sailors to unique destinations in the Mediterranean and beyond, including the Seychelles, Brazil, and the Bahamas. They prioritize safety while ensuring all participants have fun and unforgettable experiences. Jean, a native of Belgium, holds a USCG 100T Master License and teaches various sailing courses, while Mila, originally from Peru, is also a licensed USCG Captain and excels as the flotilla’s master organizer. Together, they run Whitecaps Sailing, an American Sailing certified school in Southwest Florida.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1
PORT GRIMAUD

Meeting at the marina, provisioning and checking in on our boats. Dinner near the marina and overnight on board. You can also take a taxi to nearby St. Tropez for dinner.

Day 2
BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS

We will set sail for Bormes-les-Mimosas, covering about 26 nautical miles. As we navigate, we’ll pass the scenic rocks near Cap des Salins, where you can spot a statue of the famous French actress, Brigitte Bardot. We’ll make stops along the way for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying a leisurely lunch. In the evening, we’ll anchor in Bormes-les-Mimosas, a charming town known for its beautiful flowers. Take some time to explore the town before enjoying dinner onshore. Don’t miss a visit to the medieval Fort de Brégançon, which was featured in the 1951 film Captain Horatio Hornblower.

Day 3
PORQUEROLLES ISLAND

We sail from Bormes-les-Mimosas to the national park island of Porquerolles, where we can visit historic Fort St. Agathe, the beaches of Notre Dame and of La Courtade. Again, stops for swimming and snorkeling in the many calanques. Dinner onshore, and overnight.

Day 4
PORT-CROS ISLAND

It’s a short sail to the stunning island of Port-Cros, a true paradise for nature lovers. Here, you can hike through pristine Mediterranean landscapes, and the crystal-clear waters offer fantastic opportunities for swimming and snorkeling. Port-Cros is a pedestrian-only island—no bicycles allowed—so get ready to enjoy some invigorating walks! In the evening, we’ll have dinner onshore, with the “Manoir” as our recommended restaurant. While it’s a bit on the pricey side, the experience is absolutely worth it, and we’ll need to make reservations well in advance. For those interested in diving, local dive shops are available for bookings, so you can explore the underwater beauty of the area.

Day 5
HYERES

We spend the day exploring Hyeres, which dates back to the Romans, when it was called Olbia, and you can still visit some of the ruins dating back to that time. It is also famous for its colorful houses and the medieval gates. Wine tasting at local wineries.

Day 6
PORT GRIMAUD

Time to sail back to the base of Port Grimaud, with some stops along the way for some swimming and lunch. Let’s wave at Brigitte’s statue again before turning round the cape towards the base.

Day 7
PORT GRIMAUD

Disembark by 8:30 a.m.

Thank you for the wonderful sailing adventure aboard Mila Felice this past September in Croatia! The weather was perfect, anchorages fantastic and med mooring with a little bit of practice. Jean and Mila had everything well planned and organized. Can’t wait to return for more unforgettable memories!
