SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1
EMBARKATION IN LEFKAS

After a lazy morning, the flotilla leaders will rally the crew for a provisioning mission, raiding the local markets and grocery stores. Since we’re in Greece, we’ll naturally indulge in the best of Greek cuisine. Our provisions will focus mainly on breakfast and lunch items, and, of course, we’ll stock up on excellent Greek wines and Ouzo for the perfect Mediterranean experience.

After our check-in of the yachts and chart orientations, we should be able to drop the lines and leave the marina around 17:00 for our first night on Meganisi Island, about 10 NM, where we will dock in Vathi and enjoy a great dinner at one of the eateries close to the marina.

Day 2
MEGANISI / ITHACA / KEFALONIA

After breakfast, we’ll set sail for the famous Papanikolis Cave on the southern side of Meganisi. This awe-inspiring cave, with its vast entrance, is rumored to have once concealed a submarine. We’ll drop anchor here for a swim inside the cave’s cool, clear waters, making it an unforgettable stop on our journey.

Next, we’ll head towards Afales Beach on the island of Ithaca, where we can take another refreshing swim in its stunning turquoise waters. From there, we’ll point our bows toward the charming village of Fiskardo on the island of Kefalonia, ready to soak in its beauty and relaxed charm.

Day 3
SAMI

As we depart from Fiskardo, we sail south through the channel between Kefalonia and Ithaca, heading towards the port of Sami, about 12 nautical miles away. Along the way, we’ll encounter a series of breathtaking bays with pristine beaches, perfect for dropping anchor and taking a swim in the crystal-clear waters.

Upon arriving in Sami, where we’ll spend the night, we have an exciting land tour planned. One of the highlights will be a visit to the legendary Melissani Cave, located just outside the village. According to myth, when the Greek god Pan rejected the love of the nymph Melissani, she leapt to her death in this very cave. Now a geological marvel, it features stunning turquoise waters and a collapsed ceiling that lets sunlight flood the cave, creating an enchanting atmosphere that’s as beautiful as the legend behind it.

Day 4
BAY OF FILIATRO

As we continue our journey, we have an exciting day ahead with land tours lined up. We’ll visit the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos, a serene and sacred site, followed by a delightful wine tasting at the Cooperative of Producers of Robola of Kefalonia, where we’ll experience the rich flavors of the region’s famous Robola wine.

Our destination for the night is the breathtaking Bay of Filiatro, where we’ll anchor and secure our boats to the rocks, rafting together to create a cozy and fun atmosphere. It promises to be a memorable day filled with adventure, culture, and stunning sights!

Day 5
KALAMOS

Destination: the beautiful island of Kalamos, where the charming port shares its name. George will be there to greet us, ready to assist with securing our boats before we indulge in dinner at his delightful restaurant.

En route, we’ll drop anchor at the stunning One House Bay on Atokos Island. Prepare for a treat as you swim and snorkel at the base of the impressive cliffs or stroll along the secluded beach. Though privately owned, we’re welcomed to explore this wild and cavernous paradise.
Tonight promises to be a festive celebration as we host our lively Greek white party!

Day 6
VILCHO BAY

t’s a lazy morning for some and a chance to explore town for others, depending on how much you partied last night! Today, we’ll set sail for Vilcho Bay, where the scenery will offer a delightful contrast to our adventures throughout the week. The vibrant colors of the water and the sight of numerous boats anchored in the bay create a picturesque, floating town ambiance that’s sure to captivate you.

Tonight, prepare to be amazed by a delicious meal at Hippocampus in the nearby town of Akhouria. It promises to be a perfect ending to a day of relaxation and stunning views!

Day 7
RETURN TO LEFKAS

That’s all, folks! It’s our final day, and we must make our way back to our base in Lefkas.

But the adventure isn’t over just yet! On the return journey, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop at several beautiful bays with pristine beaches, perfect for one last swim or sail. Take in the gorgeous Ionian views while we enjoy our final lunch on board.

Afterward, it’s the final leg back to Lefkas. You’re welcome to stay aboard for one more cozy night or treat yourself to a hotel stay for the luxury of a real shower and bed.

Day 8

Testimonials
I have had the pleasure of sailing with Med Sailing Adventures twice in Croatia and in Greece! Both times have been an incredible experience. Both Mila and Jean have the unique skill of bringing people of all ages and experience level together to create an amazing experience no matter where you are in the world. They encouraged me to learn to sail and even get certified to make this a life long sport. There’s nothing quite like it and I feel very safe and secure with Med Sailing Adventures trips knowing I will have the time of my life. Thank you Jean and Mila!
