Join us for a week-long sailing adventure through the northern Ionian Sea, departing from Preveza Marina and exploring the gems of Corfu, Paxos, and Antipaxos. This flotilla offers a perfect mix of stunning scenery, local culture, and laid-back exploration, with stops to swim in crystal-clear bays and visit charming villages along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or new to the experience, you’ll enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded travelers and the guidance of our expert leaders. Get ready for unforgettable days of sailing and evenings immersed in authentic Greek hospitality!
Jean De Keyser and Mila Cueva are seasoned flotilla leaders with over a decade of experience guiding sailors through some of the world’s most beautiful waters. Both are U.S. Coast Guard captains, with Jean also certified as an ASA instructor. Since 2009, they’ve led numerous flotillas, known for their blend of sailing expertise, cultural knowledge, and warm hospitality. Jean’s instructional skills and Mila’s flawless organization create an experience that is safe, enriching, and truly memorable for every participant.
After a lazy morning, “Admiral” Mila will lead the provisioning party and raid the local market and grocery stores. As we are in Greece, we want, of course, to enjoy as much Greek cuisine as possible and our provisions will be mainly limited to breakfast and lunch items and, of course, good Greek wines and Ouzo. Once we all have been checked in on our boats, we will sail to nearby Vonitsa, dock for the night and have a delicious dinner in one of the tavernas. Don’t miss a visit to the nearby castle.
We’ll embark on a 24NM journey to the island of Antipaxos, where we’ll anchor for the night, securing our boats with Med mooring lines to the rocks. Dinner will be enjoyed onboard, surrounded by the island’s serene beauty.
Let’s make the most of today’s sailing, but if Aeolus doesn’t provide the winds, we’ll anchor for a swim in crystal-clear waters along the local beaches. For a delightful Greek lunch, head to Spyros’ Taverna in Agios Vrika Bay. The west coasts of Antipaxos and Paxos are famous for their stunning cliffs and caves—perfect for exploration. We’ll anchor overnight in Lakka, a charming town known for its lively tavernas and welcoming atmosphere.
Off we go to the incredible island of Corfu, known as Kerkyra to the locals. We’ll anchor beneath the Old Fortress, where you can dinghy ashore to explore the rich history of this ancient city, dating back well before 3000 BC. Stroll through winding streets lined with shops and tavernas, take in the Venetian-inspired architecture, and savor a delicious gelato. We’ll spend the night at anchor, or if weather requires, dock at nearby Benitses.
Next stop is the mainland and the port of Sivota, 19NM southeast of Corfu. We will spend the night at the wall of the town of Mourtos. Dinner on shore.
We cross again to Paxos where, after a 12NM sail, we will reach the small port of Gaios, one of the most picturesque towns of this part of the Ionian. The space at the village pier is on a first-come, first-served basis but there is a safe anchorage from where we can dinghy in for a memorable meal at a local Taverna. Our favorite is Alexandros.
We’ll set off early for our final 32NM passage back to Preveza, making the most of this last day on the water. Upon arrival, you’re welcome to spend the night on board or at a local hotel. For those staying on board, disembarkation will be by 08:30 on Saturday morning. Wishing you a safe journey home, carrying unforgettable memories of an incredible week at sea.

Wonderful experience with Captain Jean and Whitecaps Sailing in Greece for our ASA114 certification. Highly recommend Whitecaps Sailing to anyone looking to learn how to sail or improve their sailing skills. It was a perfect balance between theory and hands-on sailing while enjoying the time on the water.
I’ve sailed with Captain Jean and Mila on three flotillas in Greece, Croatia, and Mallorca. Beautiful locations, well thought out itineraries, and an incredible group of sailors. Captain John is an excellent teacher! Recommended!
