We recommend that you arrive on Thursday before the start of the flotilla in Dubrovnik and visit the Old Town on Friday. It’s worth it! We will meet at the ACI Dubrovnik Marina in Komolac around lunchtime. The marina has excellent shower facilities, restaurants, and a nice pool. After lunch, under the guidance of “Admiral” Mila, we will do our provisioning. If everything runs smoothly, we anticipate a departure around 17:00. We sail to the small but charming port of Cavtat, where we will spend the night and go for dinner.
We clear out of Croatia with Customs in Cavtat and head out, along the coast, to Montenegro where we clear Montenegrin Customs in Zelenika followed by a very short trip to the luxurious and modern Marina Lazur, where we will spend the night. Opportunity to visit nearby Herceg Novi. We recommend having dinner in the excellent restaurant of the marina.
We leave the Bay of Kotor and head for Budva, where we will anchor and have a dinner ashore. On the way, we will have plenty of time for a swim in the nearby blue cave of Karaodzinica.
We sail back towards the Bay of Kotor with an overnight stop in the modern Lustica Bay Marina.
We set off early for Kotor, navigating the narrow strait between Sveta Nedjelja and Opatovo points—watch for the ferries! Once past, the stunning Perast Islands come into view. Otok Sveti Jura is a natural island, rumored to be haunted and off-limits. In contrast, Gospa od Skrpjela is an enchanting artificial island with a beautiful Byzantine church and museum that you can visit. After exploring Perast, we sail to the medieval city of Kotor, known as the city of cats—be ready to spot plenty of them! We’ll dock at the municipal marina, where you can wander the charming streets and hike to St. John Fortress, 919 feet above the city. The climb rewards you with breathtaking views and a well-deserved dinner at our favorite restaurant, the Galion.
This will be a long day back to Cavtat in Croatia. After checking out of Montenegro with Customs, in Porto Novi, we sail back to Cavtat in Croatia. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, we may clear that same night into Croatia or will have to wait on board, with our yellow Q flag up, until Friday morning. If we clear on Thursday, we can have dinner ashore. If not, we will have dinner on the yachts.
The Old Town of Dubrovnik seen from the sea is impressive and we will have ample opportunity to take pictures on our way back to the marina, up the river, in Komolac. After refueling and docking, we check-out of the yachts but can spend the last night on board and enjoy the restaurants in or around the marina. This ACI marina has great facilities and a large pool by the bar. A nice way to end this trip.
Disembark by 8:30 am.

This was my first sailing trip to Croatia, and I had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be the experience of a lifetime! Jean and Mila led our crew and made the trip flow seamlessly by taking care of every detail. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about what they do! The Mediterranean was beautiful, and each day, Jean and Mila arranged for us to explore new islands, enjoy delicious foods, meet wonderful people, and engage in exciting activities. I would absolutely recommend sailing with them, and I cannot wait to return!
We just finished a week sailing with Jean and Mila! They were absolutely wonderful and took us to some amazing places in Croatia and Montenegro! I highly recommend sailing with them. We had some great laughs and created some incredible lifelong memories. Bravo Jean and Mila.
My husband and I have joined 3 flotillas and have found that Captain Jean’s experience as a sailor and his knowledge of the cruising waters along with “Admiral” Mila’s knack for finding the finest restaurants and interesting places to visit on shore makes Med Sailing Adventures a fantastic, one-of-a-kind vacation! We look forward to many more trips with them.
