The Destination

Join us in the spring of 2025 for an exciting opportunity to sail on our Spring  Milebuilder. We will be navigating the stunning Aegean Islands for a week in  March. This experience will allow you to sail and accumulate valuable miles and  to Qualify for advanced ASA courses. There will be 2 instructors on the yacht  sailing and giving expert advice on sail trim and navigation. 

If you already hold your ASA104 Skipper’s license and wish to qualify for your  ASA 105+106, this is a fantastic way to advance to your next ASA level.  Additionally, it’s a great chance to log more miles for your sailing logbook. Join us  for an unforgettable sailing adventure!

The Sailing Itinerary

The Cyclades islands are some of the most renowned islands in Greece, situated  in the Aegean Sea. We will set sail from our base on Poros Island and head out  into the Saronic Gulf. Depending on weather and the wind the cruise will either  head over to the Cyclades, or head South to the Peloponnese islands. A week of  sailing on a yacht offers the perfect opportunity to explore these stunning islands.

Cost for the Week

Your place on board can be secured if you book now. We have a limited number of berths available. The first 4 students to book will receive the following.

  • Your berth for the week on board the yacht.
  • Two full-time ASA instructors to teach you how to sail a Jeanneau 45, with instruction on advanced sail trim and heavy wind sailing tactics.
  • Your choice of qualifying for your ASA 104, 105, or 106 certification.
  • Teaching materials for the course you wish to take while sailing.
  • All ASA exam fees and registration with the ASA.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and all bottled water for the trip. Evening meals are only provided when night sailing; otherwise, meals in port are the responsibility of the crew.
  • All charter fees and taxes included.
  • All linens and blankets (crew is advised to bring sleeping bags).
  • Fuel for the week.
  • Cleaning fee at the end of the charter.

The cost of the week for a person is $1950 (€1800) for the week.

CERTIFICATIONS

This learn-to-sail vacation with Athens Sailing Academy offers :

¤ ASA 104 | BAREBOAT CRUISING
Learn how to sail a sloop-rigged, auxiliary powered 30′-45′ sailboat  during a multi-day cruise upon inland/coastal waters in moderate/heavy winds  and sea conditions.

¤ ASA 105 | COASTAL NAVIGATION
Learn navigational theory and practices for safe navigation of a  sailing vessel in coastal and inland waters.
¤ ASA 106 | ADVANCED COASTAL CRUISING
Learn to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel about 30  to 50 feet in length in coastal and inland waters, in any conditions.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1
POROS

Arrival and set sail.

Day 2
LEONDION PLAKA

After breakfast, we set sail for the island of Yerika. We’ll point our bows  toward the south.

Day 3
MONAVASIA

Here you will have the chance to visit the ancient city that is still being  habituated.

Day 4
KITHERIA ISLAND

An early departure to day as Kitheria is south about 80 miles. This is where John the Baptist spent a winter before he went on to Jerusalem.

Day 5
SPETSEI ISLAND

An over night sail to Spetsei island the island is west of Kitheria about 120 miles to sail.

Day 6
SPETSEI ISLAND

A rest day on Spetsei island.

Day 7
RETURN TO BASE

An early departure to return back to Lavrion about 40 miles.
