We are offering Bareboat Cruising Catamaran Certifications through American Sailing with a 7-day live-aboard sailing course. Learn to sail vacations with courses, are customized for every cruise. We offer an International Proficiency Certificate (IPC) with every 104 Certification. Courses available to take are ASA 101, 103, 104, 114, 106, and 118.
Our fleet comprises of modern 4-cabin Fontaine Pajot catamarans, ranging from 40 to 50ft, as well as renowned models like Helia, Bali, Lagoon, and Leopard. These professionally maintained boats, overseen by a local Bareboat charter company, ensure a clean and comfortable learning environment. Your adventure begins with a sleep aboard at 5 PM in St. Thomas, USVI. Upon arrival, the Captain will welcome you to your cabin and initiate a crew meeting for introductions and a boat orientation. We’ll recommend excellent dinner spots ashore for your first night.
Each day, breakfast will be served at 7 AM, followed by an hour-long classroom session at 8 AM. We’ll cover topics like exam reviews, theory, boat systems, navigation, and the sailing skills planned for the day.
After the morning session, we’ll set sail and operate the catamaran until around 4-5 PM, making stops for a midday lunch break with swimming and snorkeling opportunities. Each evening, we’ll anchor or moor, allowing time for knot tying, swimming, debriefing, island exploration, and preparing dinner aboard or ashore.
On the final day, we’ll verify certifications, logbooks, and sea-time forms before sailing back to the marina. At the dock, you’ll have time for vessel clean-up and packing, with a 10 AM departure.
